Apollo Albedo
Unique ‘Lunargrams’ (silver gelatine images printed in moonlight) 40cmx50cm
2025 will see humans returning to the surface of the moon.
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter satellite is currently creating detailed images of the lunar surface in readiness for future landings.
It has also photographed the Apollo landing sites, complete with discarded equipment and tracks, as they were left behind over 50 years ago.
Using rights free imagery, I have created a series of images of the lunar sites printed using only the light of the moon.
The traces of humankind’s brief presence on the moon have now been printed and presented in light that has been reflected off the lunar surface.
