Sectioned Time – 1

Live edge prehistoric bog oak and unique silver Gelatine print (30x20cm) 2022

A piece of 5000-year-old bog-oak is sectioned to reveal its growth lines. Silver photopaper (exposed to 5000-year-old starlight inside a telescope) is laser cut and inlaid into a single season’s growth line.

When the photons that sensitised, this paper were first emitted, the forest containing this extinct species of oak flourished.

Time and object are re-united via light travelling for 5000 years in space.
